First Communion Mass arrangements—There will be an extra mass at 8.30am on the following Sundays:-2nd May, 9th May, 16th May.
First Communions will take place at 10am and 12 noon masses on these Sundays.

May Soup Run—Will take place on Friday 7th May. Contributions can be handed into the lower hall from 7pm that evening. Your support is greatly appreciated.

40 Hours—will take place in St Martin’s Church Castlemilk on 9th, 10th and 11th May.

Providing Healthcare in Pakistan—Thursday 3rd June, Upper Hall. Stephen Hayes has been involved for some time working for an organisation that is sponsored by the Aga Khan to provide healthcare to those who live in remote areas of Pakistan. This talk reflects on the challenges and opportunities faced in doing so in addition to providing a flavour of what life is like for an ex-patriot living in Pakistan today. Justice and Peace Group.

Walk to the Well, Schoenstatt—Around forty or so men, women and children (and three dogs) joined our walk to the Retreat Centre at Schoenstatt last Sunday, where we met some others who had travelled by car. Some even walked back! An enjoyable experience was had by all and we also learned some valuable lessons about water. Many thanks for donations to SCIAF of £135 18. Justice and Peace Group.

Thursday 13th May—Upper Hall at 7 30pm. Professor Kevin Ibeh will talk on “Improving Lives in Africa: The Jobs Imperative”. Although there are no easy answers to Africa's many challenges, facilitating access to decent jobs is thought to be a key part of the solution. Increased access to meaningful jobs is likely to reduce overall levels of extreme poverty and assist with other Millennium Development goals. Recent experiences from China and other emerging economies attest to this viewpoint. Kevin’s talk will share some thoughts on how the supply of jobs in Africa might be boosted and discuss how we could all assist the process. Justice and Peace Group.

Chalk Pastels for the Terrified—An 8 week beginner’s course in chalk pastel drawing offered through the Archdiocesan Arts Project will commence on Friday 14th May—Friday 1st July at 10am—12noon in the Larkfield Centre, Inglefield St, Govanhill. School Buses—East Dunbartonshire Council has now reviewed its decision to remove school transport for children who live less than two miles from their primary school. The Council will now provide the same service that it has been formerly providing, albeit on a subsidised payment basis for those children under the two mile limit. St. Andrew’s Parent Council would like to thank all the parishioners who supported them on this issue and signed the petition. We are sure the support we received from the wider community made the Council work to find this compromise.
