St Andrews Primary School 40th Anniversary—Thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday the 16th June at 7pm in St Andrews Church. The Principal Celebrant will be Mgr. John Gilmartin, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Glasgow. All parents, pupils, and staff, past and present and all Parishioners are most welcome to the Mass and also to the Reception in the Upper Hall.

Whist Drive –Will take please on Monday 31st May in the Lower Hall at 7.30 p.m. All welcome.

Day for Life 31st May 2010—Each year the Bishops' Conference of Scotland, Ireland and England and Wales mark “Day for Life” choosing a common theme for reflection. This year we focus on end-of life issues to help the faithful understand and appreciate the best traditions of the Church in this area. Explanatory leaflets are available. Special Second Collections for the Linacre Centre and other caring agencies in Scotland.

Pro Life— Thank you to all those who signed the Care not Killing campaign cards opposing the “End of Life Assistance (Scotland) Bill last week. It was a great response. There are still cards available at the back of the church for those who have not already signed. Please put the signed cards in the box provided. There are lists on the board of MSP’s for anyone who can e mail or send a simple letter—(one e mail can be sent to all of them). MSPs are keen to hear your views and this more personal approach is very effective.

Stephen Hayes—Challenges of Providing Healthcare in Pakistan - June 3rd Upper Hall at 7.30 p.m.—In what promises to be a most interesting talk, Stephen Hayes will discuss his experience as chief executive of the Aga Khan’s health care initiative in Pakistan. Stephen was for some time the
Co-ordinator of St. Andrew’s Justice and Peace group and so we are especially pleased that he is taking time to talk to us during his visit home. Stephen has had a long association with the Aga Khan organization and has been based full-time in Pakistan for the past two years. This has involved him in a range of interesting and challenging projects in the rural north of the country. Stephen will share his experience of these and of life in general in Pakistan today. Tea and coffee will be provided. Justice and Peace Group.
