Joint Service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity—On Sunday 24th January 2010 at 6.30 p.m. in Westerton Parish Church. Guest Preacher, Reverend Catriona Gorton, Minister of Hillhead Baptist Church. 40th Anniversary of St Andrew’s Primary School—is being celebrated this year. Mr Kerr would be delighted to receive any photos, items of historical interest, information from/or concerning former pupils and their achievements etc. Hall Bookings—Recently there has been a number of clashes in the use of the halls as individual Parish Groups are not booking them appropriately. Could all Parish Groups, please note that they have to contact the Halls Letting Secretary on 07528425698 should they require a let of any hall or the hut outwith their normal booked cycle. This includes when the Parish Group is organising or participating in a Parish event. Thanks for the understanding. Pro Life Meeting—will be held on Wednesday 27th January at 7. 30 pm in the hut. We shall be discussing opposition to Margo McDonald’s “End of Life Choices Bill” and planning our programme for 2010. Anyone interested in these matters is most welcome. Please come and join us. Mary’s Meals—– Many thanks for the very generous response to last weekend's appeal. The church collection amounted to £6,399.00. In addition, the coffee morning in the Upper Hall raised £172.00 Parish Fabric and Finance—The roof works began last Monday and are scheduled to take approximately 6 weeks. Pastoral Care/Chaplaincy in the Hospitals—The Bishop’s Conference of Scotland have asked that you be informed that due to new health regulations, patients, their families and next of kin are required to request that the responsible nursing member of staff, contact the Catholic Chaplain to provide appropriate pastoral care for the patient concerned. Catholic Education Sunday—6/7th February—St. Andrew’s Primary and Turnbull High School will assist with the Liturgy at 10.00 a.m. Mass A member of the Turnbull Staff will speak about the importance of Catholic Education. The second collections are for the Catholic Education Service. Assisted Parishes—30th/31st January. The second collections are for the Archdiocesan Fund. Pilates Class—A new Pilates Class has started in the upper Hall on a Saturday morning from 9.30—10.30 Pilates is a uniquely precise and intelligent approach to exercise and body-conditioning, which gives you a leaner, suppler, stronger more toned body and a calmer, more relaxed mind. The Beginning Experience—Are holding a weekend for those who find themselves alone again through divorce, separation or bereavement. The weekend will take place at St. Mary’s Kinnoull Perth from 12th—14th March 2010. Life Pregnancy Care Services—As you will know our Pregnancy Care Service, now situated at 205 St. Vincent Street has been active in Glasgow for thirty years, providing a caring service and practical help for Mothers and Babies. We currently have a large stock of baby clothes and baby materials, due to the generosity of our support groups. Newman Association—Mr Ian Macdonald, Lecturer in Art History at DACE, University of Glasgow, will give an illustrated lecture on “The Sistine Chapel” in Turnbull Hall at 7.30pm on Thursday 28 January 2010.
