Sunday—23rd May—The Sacrament of Confirmation
will be celebrated at 12noon Mass for:- St. Andrew’s Children’s

Parish Pastoral Council—Thanks and congratulations to the following new nominated members John MacCormack, Tommy McGonigle and Billy Martin. Communications—Thanks for Last Sunday’s special collection, which amounted to £673. Papal Visit– The Bishop’s Conferences of Scotland, England and Wales—The second collections this Sunday (Pentecost Sunday) are to help defray the cost of the forthcoming Papal Visit. Should you wish to “Gift Aid” your contribution, envelopes for the purpose are available from the back of the church. Legion of Mary—The Parish Presidium of the Legion of Mary will hold its annual Mass for Canonisation of Venerable Edel Quinn in St Andrews Bearsden on 5th June at 10 am. All Legionaries Auxiliaries and Parishioners are warmly invited. Act now to Save Lives— Please sign the CARE NOT KILLING (CNK) card to oppose the End of Life Assistance (Scotland) Bill and leave in the boxes at the back of the Church. CNK alliance seeks to promote more and better PALLIATIVE care and to oppose moves to legalise assisted suicide and euthanasia in the UK. You are also asked to unite to your MSP, your list MP’s and the members of the Health Committee considering the Bill. A list of addresses is on the board at the back of the Church. Life—The Conference to mark the 40th Anniversary of the founding of LIFE will take place on Saturday 29th May in the ADELAIDE CENTRE, 209 Bath Street, Glasgow. As well as marking Life’s 40 years of Pro-Life counselling, practical support and campaigning on behalf of Mothers and Babies, we will be looking at what the future holds for our unborn brothers and sisters and how we can halt the wholesale slaughter of the Innocents currently taking place in Britain. St Andrews Primary School 40th Anniversary—Thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday the 16th June at 7pm in St Andrews Church. The Principal Celebrant will be Mgr. John Gilmartin, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Glasgow. All parents, pupils, and staff, past and present and all Parishioners are most welcome to the Mass and also to the Reception in the Upper Hall. St Andrews Primary School—Are collecting all the usual vouchers from the various supermarkets and especially Tesco for Schools & Clubs Vouchers. If they could be left in the basket on the table on the left of the main door (next to the Piety Stall), they will be uplifted periodically. Many thanks to those who have already contributed. Annual Gathering of Friends of Ecumenism—You are warmly invited to the Annual Gathering of Friends of Ecumenism on Thursday 10th June at 6.45pm in St Michael’s, Cardross Road, Dunbartonshire G82 4JE. Theme of the Gathering—Edinburgh 2010, the Legacy, with Br Stephen Smyth and Sr Elizabeth Moran. Providing Healthcare in Pakistan—This evening's talk will be delivered by one of our parishioners Stephen Hayes, who is now working in Pakistan. Stephen now heads the Aga Khan’s efforts to bring healthcare to the poor. His talk promises to bring a unique insight into living and working in Pakistan today. Tea and coffee will be available.
